Job description

Waracle are looking for a collaborative, strategic, and growth-oriented Principal Client Partner for an exciting new role joining our world-class digital technology consultancy and home to a diverse, smart, curious and ambitious community of specialists in technology-driven transformation.

We work with ambitious clients to help them solve their biggest business and customer challenges. We help our clients to innovate and create intelligent digital products and services. We thrive on complex challenges and deliver business-critical IT transformation projects, moving seamlessly from strategy, design and delivery to operations.

This is a Hybrid role, offering the flexibility to balance your professional and personal life, with 2 days a week spent connecting with colleagues in our Edinburgh or London office.

Role Overview

As a Principal Client Partner at Waracle, you will own the commercial strategy and long-term growth of a dedicated domain, shaping opportunities, building market positioning and driving revenue growth. This is a hands-on, quota-carrying role where you will combine strategic thinking with the ability to create and convert opportunities.

Working closely with teams across new business, marketing and delivery, you will lead cross-functional collaboration, build trusted relationships with C-suite stakeholders and develop meaningful client partnerships. You’ll have the opportunity to influence growth strategy, mentor teams and help create a culture that drives commercial success and lasting impact.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Driving Strategic Domain Growth: Deliver sustainable growth across your portfolio of accounts through exceptional service, proactive demand generation, and compelling proposals.
  • Leading High-Value Pitches: Personally lead our most critical, complex, and transformative pitches, while coaching and bringing the wider team along to elevate collective standards.
  • Nurturing Executive Partnerships: Position yourself as a sought-after, trusted advisor or Executive Sponsor for our most strategic accounts, guiding their long-term conversations.
  • Fostering a Growth Culture: Chair internal Client Service Groups (comprising Delivery, Technology, and Commercial leaders) and contribute across Waracle to help others build their skills in commercial stewardship, negotiation, and pitching.
  • Commercial & Financial Stewardship: Own accurate forecasting, margin optimisations, and risk management within your domain, while exploring innovative commercial models.
  • Navigating Complex Negotiations: Serve as a supportive, definitive internal escalation point and expert advisor for challenging client conversations.

What you'll bring

  • Proven Strategic Leadership: Extensive experience operating at a Principal or Director level within a technology consultancy or professional services environment.
  • Commercial & Pipeline Mastery: Demonstrated success managing financial metrics, pipeline development, margin optimisation, and accurate forecasting for a significant business unit or vertical.
  • Elite Presentation & Pitching Skills: Recognised as a highly persuasive, impressive presenter with a proven track record of winning large-scale, transformative digital projects.
  • C-Suite Relationship Building: An exceptional ability to build deep, authentic networks and positively influence stakeholders at the highest corporate levels.
  • Strong Communication: Excellent organisational, presentation, and collaborative communication skills.
  • The Right Attitude: Energy, integrity, conviction, and a passion for technology transformation. We value leaders who make ethical choices, show courage in decision-making, and support their teams through complex challenges.

Our values

To make the world a better place through impactful software

We take pride in delivering high quality work and seeing the impact it has. We are curious, proactive, and always learning; continuously improving ourselves and our skills. We strive for excellence in everything we do. We see every opportunity as a chance to raise the bar - for Waracle, our clients, and for our own professional growth.

We succeed together: whether we’re leading, supporting or learning. We lead with empathy, working as a unified team to understand and appreciate other people’s perspectives and experiences. This commitment to one another empowers everyone to do their best work and reach their full potential. We build trust, celebrate every contribution, and create a space where everyone has the opportunity to shine.

We have big goals, but we don’t try to do everything. We know there are a limited number of hours in a day, so we make every one of them count. We accomplish this by regularly pausing to assess the potential impact of our work, prioritising what matters most and then acting with purpose.

We are transparent in how we think and act. We seek and share context, give and accept feedback, and communicate openly. We take full ownership of what we deliver as individuals and as a team, and hold ourselves accountable. This openness and accountability gives us the clarity and purpose to deliver at our best.

We love what we do and find the fun in each day, celebrating our shared successes and the satisfaction of doing hard work well. We’re in this together, creating space for connection, laughter, and fun. When we look after our clients and each other, and do work we’re proud of, we go home happy.
