Key Aspects of the Role Include
- Feature Development: Crafting high-quality backend features and services independently from well-defined requirements, applying robust coding standards.
- Cloud Operations: Using cloud services for secure storage, authentication, and deployment while following modern practices like version control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Open Communication: Providing concise updates in team stand-ups and proactively raising blockers early so the team can solve them together.
- Collaboration & Mentorship: Managing your own tasks with minimal oversight while helping to onboard new team members and supporting junior colleagues.
- Continuous Improvement: Contributing to the evolution of our internal processes by participating in retrospectives and Communities of Practice (CoP) ceremonies.
- Performance Optimisation: Identifying application bottlenecks using profiling tools and prioritising tasks effectively during sprint planning.
What you'll bring
- Core Tech Stack: Strong proficiency with C#, .NET, and Azure environments.
- Technical Curiosity: A willingness to dive into legacy technologies and stored procedures to understand, maintain, and help modernise existing systems.
- Architecture & Design: A solid understanding of backend architectures (including microservices and event-based systems) and a familiarity with SOLID principles.

Recruitment process
The recruitment process you can expect for this role is an initial call with your dedicated Talent Acquisition Partner who will chat with you about Waracle, what you are looking for in a new position, the salary for the role, notice period and benefits (the important stuff!).
After that, you’ll be invited to a two-stage interview process where you have an opportunity to find out more about the role and showcase your skills and experience. Your Talent Acquisition Partner will guide you through the whole process to your first day with us.

We work on a Hybrid working model and offer flexible working hours. We're spread across 4 vibrant UK offices, but our teamwork isn't confined to those spaces, it's all about collaboration! While using the office is encouraged for our teams to work together, each of us has a home office setup, relishing the freedom of hybrid workstyles. As of now, remote work outside the UK isn't part of our standard practice.
