Waracle is looking for a talented Software Engineering Manager. You must be passionate and enthusiastic about building and growing a successful development team, during the organisation’s continued success.

This position will be based in either our Edinburgh, London or Glasgow office but right now is remote working and is a permanent opportunity.

As the Software Engineering Manager you will be responsible for the management of the development team, ensuring the highest standard of work is produced. You will grow and develop the team, through excellent leadership and mentorship. Whilst working closely with multi functional teams developing cutting edge solutions to our clients.



  • Working closely with SCRUM Masters to ensure engineers are being assigned work items
  • Supporting the career development of engineering staff across the job roles and grades
  • Identify risk areas and propose ways to mitigate that risk
  • Setting personal career and development goals for engineering team members
  • Act as a bridge between the delivery consultants and the engineering team 
  • Conducting annual and 6 month reviews for staff
  • Help roll out management framework across the engineering team
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new starts
  • Support the team through coaching or mentoring where applicable and manage their performance
  • Facilitating continuous development of your team
  • Assisting in recruitment activities and creating a team culture. Helping us to identify and attract people who compliment the team but also bring new ideas to and can help up-skill the existing team


  • Ability to inspire and lead talented engineers
  • Experience of working in Agile environments
  • Excellent knowledge of the best software engineering practices
  • Knowledge of how to grow software development teams
  • Clear communicator at all levels of our organisation
  • Working in a fast paced environment with demanding requirements
  • Experience of line management of a software delivery team
