We are looking for a Senior HR Manager to join and lead our Human Resources department. This role will encompass all aspects of the HR function, from onboarding to creating, implementing and monitoring HR policies to performance reviews and staff development.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a team player with a strong interest in HR paired with a working knowledge of HR processes and a solid administration background looking to step up to managing a small team. The ideal candidate will also have an interest in tech and the digital world and understanding of the types of people who work there.

 

This role offers flexible working with a hybrid of home and office working from either our Edinburgh or Glasgow office.

Reporting to the HR Director you’ll be responsible for:

 

Supporting our team development and retaining qualified employees

Managing the company’s annual performance review process and supporting line managers in conducting appraisal meetings

Developing career development paths with managers and employees and offering support where necessary

Advancing the company’s existing training programmes and updating, designing and implementing training programs when required

Monitoring key HR indicators including performance, attendance, development and so on.

Managing the employee experience ensuring the HR team address employee concerns and requests in an effective way

 

Maintaining our levels of compliance and making us an employer of choice:

Ensuring that the company’s procedures comply with up to date UK employment law

Assisting with setting and reviewing pay structures and employee perks and benefits

Designing and implementation of company policies that promote a healthy work environment

Monitoring and reporting HR metrics to the HR Director

Monitoring and reporting on the departmental budget on a regular basis

Ensuring that the HR intranet is the ‘go-to’ place for all employee questions in the first instance

 

Looking after our HR team:

Managing and setting objectives for the HR team and tracking their progress

Ensuring the culture in our HR team sets the standard across the company

Reporting to and collaborating with the HR Director in supporting organisational development goals and objectives

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as HR Manager or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with Human Resources Management Software and Project Management tools
  • Ability to foster healthy employee relations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to listen and effectively verbalise ideas
  • Experience of leading a team to deliver results whilst supporting and motivating staff
  • A solid understanding of the key principles of employment law
  • The ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Solid ethics and morals and a common sense approach
  • Experience of leading a team to deliver results whilst supporting and motivating staff

Desirable Experience

  • MSc/PG Diploma degree in HR or CIPD qualification is an advantage
  • Previous experience in a technical business environment would also be an advantage
