This position will offer a hybrid working pattern with some office presence at the London office, 1 day per week and is open to both, permanent and contract candidates.


Waracle are looking for an experienced Senior Android Developer to join our ambitious team. You’ll be passionate about delivering happy customers, able to communicate clearly to stakeholders, with strong commercial awareness.


  • Creating and supporting the development of new mobile applications for Android
  • Integration of components and remote systems into the platform
  • Software design and documentation
  • Optimisation, profiling and debugging backend services
  • Write unit and integration tests to ensure high quality code
  • Communication with team to produce optimal results
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of how software is developed, integrated and deployed within the development community


  • Experience developing Android apps using Kotlin, SDK and Java
  • Experience with third-party libraries, API and open-source Android ecosystem
  • Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
  • Experience working with variable versions of Android and variable screen sizes
  • Experience of leading software development within teams of mixed experience
  • FS experience and awareness of security
  • Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
  • Extensive experience with practice libraries- Dagger2, RxAndroid, Coroutines, Retrofit
  • Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle
  • Java testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, etc
